A total of 64 players attended this year’s annual charity golf day on the 27th September at the Royal Ascot G C, which was held on behalf of the charity ‘Children with Special Needs Foundation’ and other Rotary charities.
Despite the unsettled weather for the time of the year, the weather proved kind, with only light intermittent showers, which proved interesting test for the golfers. However, this didn’t seem to affect the scores too badly, with the winning team from one of the event sponsor ‘SAVILLS’, just pipping the ‘Hartmore Eagles’ and the ‘Good Old Boys’ into second and third places.
The winners of the individual prizes were Brian Chatt, closely followed by Sam Finn (on count back), both from the ‘Savillls’ team, and Steve Roper Marcus Bateman (Easy Riders), along with others who won various prizes which included the longest drive and nearest the pins.
The Rotary club wishes to extend its thanks to the Royal Ascot G C for their hospitality, along with all those sponsors and players who supported the event, and the president also wishes to extend thanks to those members who helped to organize this successful event.
